Hello, fellow door sealers. Ongoing process is much longer than I figured. Got samples from Steele, one was quite similar to the existing, but at over $4/ft., would be $141 to do the front doors. That was a friendly no tax no shipping price and while I appreciate their efforts, that's a steep increase from the original $75. I sent them back the stuff that didn't work at a cost of $12.75, and got a prompt credit to my card of the $75 so they were good on that, but my actual cost included their shipping so I'm out about $25 and still have leaky doors, one of which has no seal whatsoever as I had prepped it to install what Steele had sent. Back to the drawing board. Other stuff has prevented me from giving my full attention to this, but will post when I find a reasonable solution. Thanks for the thanks, Vannerdude, will try to be a good member, if admittedly sometimes a little less active than some. Happy Easter to those who celebrate, and to those who just get a nice day off of work.

Thanks, vettex2. That was the first thing I had looked at, but $100+ for 2 doors? Of course, I lost $25 trying to do it another way, so... Maybe if it were 2 whole doors. haha

I'm back. Been a while. Had a rental go empty, repairs turned to remodel, but now I can get back to these doorseals. Looked at perfectfit.com, and saw an exact match to the existing stuff for about $17/15ft. box. Shipping to Fl. was a bit over $15. Cheapo that I am, I called to order over the phone and asked them to stuff both pieces into one box. Friendly fellow said no problem, but as he hadn't done the paperwork yet, I don't know how much(if any) I saved. Said it would ship right away. Will report back when I have the product, tell how it worked out.

So this is fun. Waited awhile, checked my bank to see how much I might've saved on shipping with Perfectfit. At the online checkout, my order came to a total of $51.93, after trying to be clever, $55 was charged to my card. Got me!

Pretty sure it's not factory original, but despite being dry and cracked it was doing a good job keeping out water. perfectfit.com #AV16392.

Thanks.
I don't care as long as it works for that price.
Did you glue it on?

Still waiting for perfectfit parts, should arrive tomorrow(wed. 27th), but I had some time today, so I used the Steele product that didn't work for the front doors on the headers(up above, glued to the body of the truck). Worked wonders, fit like it belonged there. Even with the $200+ weatherstrip for the back doors it leaked badly. Apparently that stuff up top is quite necessary. Oddly, when I ordered the back door stuff, I asked and Steele said there was no part for up above. After doing this, I gave the truck a wash, heavily soaking the door gaps. Totally dry inside the slider, one small drop inside the back doors. Call it a success. This is not necessarily a great solution as the front door weatherstrip isn't exactly cheap, but one door's worth did the headers all around. Even the passenger door, which hasn't yet gotten the new door weatherstrip, fared well. If anyone has been following this thread, you will recall Steele had sent me 2 shipments of the front door stuff. The first batch they told me to throw away, or do whatever with it. As a result, I still have one door's worth(1" shy of 14') left, which I would sell cheap. Say, $15 buyer pays shipping from central Fl. Box is 11.5 x 11.5 x 6", 2.5 lbs. This is half of kit # 70-2430-72. Hope this helps someone, will report back on perfectfit results. Not sure of etiquette for selling on a forum, let me know if interested, I have a paypal acct.

To be thorough, I should mention, what I've got is brand new, still has the red tape, but the self-adhesive is useless. It has to be glued.

Well, I finally get to put this thing to bed. As this kind of thing goes, this has got to be one of the least satisfying. There has got to be a less expensive, less time-consuming way. Hopefully you guys get something out of this. The perfectfit stuff, for the most part, was fine. In 2 dimensions, the size was exact, but there is a kind of a "nose" that sticks out, and that part was a bit shorter. It met the body shell nicely most of the way around, but I could see a little daylight up by the A-pillar, and sure enough failed the hose test. Fortunately, each part was delivered with a couple extra feet, so I glued that to the body shell, on the swept back part(the A-pillar itself). That did it.
In Summary:
perfectfit #AV16392 X2 (front doors) - $55
Metro-Molded # LM110VS (slider) $45 from RockAuto
Steele #s 82-0199-72(rear driver side),
82-0200-72(rear pass.)-$216
1 tube 3M Super Black - $13
Shipping both ways for Steele front door product - $25
Total - $354.
If it weren't for the issues with the Steele front door product, I still would have to search for, and purchase, material for the headers which turned out to be absolutely necessary. Also, knowing now that

without something up top, no matter what you buy, there will be gushing leaks, I would probably buy the "lesser" Metro product for the back doors at a considerable price break. Hope I haven't bored everyone to tears, and that this thread helps someone out there. Cheers!
