Need some cheap wheels

This weekend I'm finally going to get the rearend put in my 56, it came out of a 68 F100. I need some cheap rear wheels to roll around on in the garage. I'm having a hard time finding some stock wheels, so in the event I end up ordering something what do I need as far as backspacing? I'm not talking about wide wheels maybe 7"

I have 2000 Explorer wheels on mine that I picked up from Craigs List (about 6 years ago) for $125. The tires had a lot of tread on them. I replaced the tires today due to their ages. The bolt pattern is a 5 X 4.5, and are 7" wide. Ranger wheels are pretty much the same thing. I'm not sure what yours would be.

I just picked up some old 8-lug wheels for the '49 and it seemed that my local Craigslist had plenty of truck wheels listed. I ended getting a set of four for $20 but the downside is that they had dry-rotted nasty worn out tires on them. Two weren't even good for rollers so I ended up paying $20 to get a dismount and disposal fee and bought new tires to put on the wheels. So it cost me $40 for the wheels I guess.
I think a lot of folks have a stack of wheel/tires laying around on their property that they would want to get rid of since you now have to pay to properly dispose of them.

All the stock Ford 5 on 5 1/2 wheels I've ever had, were all 4" backspace

A typical 1996 and earlier F-100/150 wheel has 1/2" of positive offset. A typical size would be 15" x 6". Rim width is measured across the inner rim base, excluding the rim lips. Back spacing, however, includes the rim lips. Therefore, using the below chart, a typical back space on a 6" wide rim would be 4". Stu

You can find the 5X5.5, 15X7 8 spoke wheels in almost any junk yard, They look good, are paintable and are a good size for many tire styles and sizes.

wish you were closer. I have a 70 f100 parts truck that I'd give you a couple of tires and wheels off of. I'd hit the wrecking yard or an old tire shop in your area and see what they have.

Not sure when the bolt patterns changed but some where thru the 80s F150 used the 5x5 1/2, 15" wheels. Cheap to free!
