thanks I will do it here.
From what I see you did not use the bumper bracket kit. Was it very hard to do without that or would you suggest buying it? Are new hood hinges necessary? Hard for me to follow some of McNastyz instructions.
Also what all is needed for wipers? Just what is needed not optional

thank you. Planning to try and fab up bumper mounts. We have a machine shop in the back part of our shop so I am sure I can get some help if needed. Thanks for the help I appreciate it very much. Trying to get my build rolling in the back together part. Almost all apart now

Hey Rob, check out this part to help reduce noise into the cabin via the steering rack.
BRAND NEW OEM LOWER STEERING WHEEL COLUMN SHAFT FOR FORD F-SERIES & EXCURSION
SGT MAC The 01 F250 build thread - Page 41 - Ford Powerstroke Diesel Forum
This is the "Energizer Bunny", as I call him, who swapped the dash AND GAUGES. The dude is always up to something. I love it.
Did you soundproof your interior? Im going to do that next. Still deliberating between Dynamat, Fatmat, Noico, Second Skin, SDSD etc.

Yea for a young Military guy he does do great work and I don't mean that with sarcasm or insult. I hope when he is done if he ever is he don't sell that truck unless it's to me lol.
I wonder what his $ figure is spent into that rig but I have been following him for quite sometime.

Started working on cleaning up the cab supports and the remainder of the rust in the rocker area but I still have along way to go with the clean up and adding new metal.
Before
Still working on cleaning this up before welding in new metal and still working on final fit of outer pillar
Cleaning up the straitening cab supports, still on going.
A little fab and fit. Still have a long way to go!!
Once I get everything cleaned up then its on to weld thru primer and welding!!

Rob you're in deep on this! I didn't realize your cab was so rusted. I assume its the result of winter road salt.
Couple of weeks ago I watched an F450 with a yellow-arrow-blinker sign drafting a pretreatment tanker spraying magnesium chloride on the highway. The F450 was on the highway to get drivers away from the tanker. The F450 was dripping MgCl. It was soaked. It was getting into the engine bay...everywhere. I give that truck 5 years before its in the salvage yard rusted to pieces.
I love watching your project evolve. Keep posting pics.

Thanks Lex. Most of the worst is now gone but it's a little slow goin with the clean up. What you see in the first pic is the only rust left, same as the other side. Last night I started making a pattern to make a patch for the area I cut out and it is going to give me what I need to be able to seal everything up in the front area. Pictures to follow whenever I get it done.

Here is the before picture of the cab supports after welding in the tears and holes.
I had to replace the bottom tab on this support
Here is the picture after using three parts water and one-part white vinegar and a red scotch pad to kill any rust left.
Here's the after picture using straight water to wash off the vinegar and dead rust residue down to clean metal.
Here is the before of the inner rocker.
Here is the new inner Rocker panel for the driver’s side.
(still perfecting my plug welding and weld thru primer skills) but getting there and it is as solid as a rock now.

Yeah it sure seems like it but if I would have waited another year or two then there would be nothing to weld too!! It is for sure time consuming, very slow goin, but once I get the passenger side on then its all new metal from there. I hope to finish this side by tonight or tomorrow and Friday start the passenger side. Once everything is complete then I am going to POR the daylights out of the whole thing but I'm doing everything that I know to make sure it will last.
