I have a Ford F-53 gas chassis (460) in my 1993 Fleetwood Bounder motorhome with 55,000 miles. It runs better than anything else I own. Today while driving it to give it some winter exercise, the red engine idiot light came on because the oil pressure gauge was at zero. It was running fine, full power, no knocking or noises. I was close to home so I said screw it and drove home. Other than the gauge itself everything totally totally normal, although I discovered it was 2 quarts low. It has some oil seepage but nothing unexpected for a 23-year old rig. Adding oil made no difference at the gauge. All other gauges are fine. Is this likely a sending unit problem? What should I do first?
