Thanks The original picture was 90 out so I rotated it and save it but for some reason the posting picked up the native orientation. I guess I need to make a new post to ask the multitude about the trim panel on the rear wall. Yes I wanted an 8 foot bed I haul more stuff than people if I had went with the super cab and 8 foot bed the truck won't fit in my garage.
Thank again for getting my tires on the ground.
Alright! Another guy who actually plans to haul things with his truck! Wow, imagine that!
Seriously though Triton1948, that is one hell of a good looking truck! Since you're coming out of another 11th gen (04-08), I must confess I am disappointed in the lack of space behind the seats of the new RC, but I'll find a way to live with it. This is a good looking truck, and the RC/LB just makes it look so right. The first time I drove a 15 last year, it was the first truck that really made my 2006 feel like an old truck. I don't think I've been this crazy about a new truck since Ford first revealed the 2004 model. I had to wait a couple years, but I bought one. Ten years later I still love it just as much as I did the day I drove it home!
No back seat???? jeez.. it's like you plan to use your truck as a ... truck.. what is the world coming too???
Seriously though, that a beaut or a color, and a great looking truck. Every time I haul something, I miss an 8 foot bed ( pretty much weekly) and when I carry people I.. oh wait.. I let everyone else drive when there's a group. But I *needed* a crew cab... for reasons...
Thanks gentlemen for all of the kind words. The calculated mileage for a full tank is about 630 miles right now. It will really empty your wallet if one lets it get close to empty. Hope this picture comes out in the correct orientation. So far had Line-X bed liner and corrosion inhibitor / undercoat, next I installed Westin Stainless Steel steps, Truxedo LOPRO tonneau cover and then Seatsaver Carhart seat covers, finally a set of Ford rear wheel well inner liners. Working on a storage system for behind the seat. So should be complete sometime next week. Yes I actually use my truck to haul firewood, building materials, and of course the obligatory friend and family moving gigs.
Nice work Triton! I know my 27 gallon will pretty well empty my wallet if I get too low, so I don't think I even want to know what a 36 gallon tank would cost to fill. But then is the 23 gallon enough? It's all a toss up, but I do wish the standard fuel tank was a tad bigger on these. That truck sure looks good, and I'm sure it'll do anything you'll ever need it to do. The Line-X is a smart investment. I love mine!

I usually never let mine get below 1/2 tank, I do like having the 36 gallon tank though...

You will find that the calculated mileage depends on what kind of economy you were (or were not) getting at the end of the previous tank full. Mine did come up with a calculated 780 miles one time, which I found quite amazing.

I really can't understand this logic. You'll burn the same amount of fuel per mile. Whether you fill a 23-gallon tank more frequently, or a 36-gallon tank less frequently, the cost will be the same... and you'll save time with less fillups with the big tank.
Hell, I'd put a 100-gallon tank in if I could (without losing bed space).

I can't agree more! I don't get it. The more fuel the better.
With my Excursion and it's 44 Gallon tank getting 8 MPG at the height of $4+/Gallon fuel prices I was putting $150-170 in every week and half and I hate having to stop for fuel.
The 36 gallon tank in my F-150 and low fuel prices make it like driving a Prius these days.

Hey if you want to keep dumpin' a good portion of your paycheck straight into your fuel tank every week be my guest. Me, I'd rather save some of my money. Besides, thanks to our wonderful state government, Pennsylvania is back up around $2.00/gallon again and only going higher! I don't think that's all that low, not when the national average is about $.40-$.50/gallon lower than that. D*** state government keeps raising gas taxes every chance they get...

Err, are you using Common Core math or something? It doesn't matter if you put 20 gallons in the tank 5 times, or 100 gallons in the tank 1 time, the cost per mile is still the same.
Let's look at the numbers:
Assume an average F-150 driver running 1500 miles a month at 15MPG.
That's 1,500 / 15 = 100 gallons of fuel per month.
If you have a standard 23 gallon tank, you're probably fueling around 20 gallons each time... so that's 5 trips.
If you have a 36 gallon tank, you're fueling around 33 gallons each time... or 3 trips.
The time required to actually transfer the fuel is the same.
However, with the bigger tank, you only have to make 3 trips to the gas station. That saves time and fuel.
At the end of the day, you're still burning the same amount of gas.
