Just wondering, are you guys using your trucks for racing or for
work ( towing or hauling)? With all the problems that are being
reported on these trucks, why take the risk? I am getting 17.6
mpg with mine, 12.6 mpg towing a 5800 lb travel trailer. If I want
to go 140+ mph, I'll just jump in my Cobra!
I use mine for everything, towing, hauling, and playing. I love the feel of an 8000lb barge hauling butt. Every one has their choice and mine is to have the best of all worlds.
A reply to the pyro placement, why do all heavy over the road rigs have the probe after the turbo. I have done a test on my 99 PSD and the temp is 100 degrees higher before then after all the time. Not trying to start an argument, but it seems this a long on going discussion.
After the turbo the temp has already startyed to cool. If you install after the turbo you can't let your temp go as high. I installed mine in the driver's side manifold,it was easy to get to.
Has anybody just done a complete exhaust change? Say a banks type or something similar? Seems that just helping it breathe better would give it more power and keep things cooler? Also, for those of us who are worried about our warranty, I would guess and I say again guess that an after market exhaust wouldn't void it? BTW Ken, you have class.
No I haven't chipped it yet but I'm with you chipped and exhaust before christmas. dwolf is running a BD Juice module in his I think but not sure. I like the volumizer but that godzilla box looks good too.Definatly need the gauges, I was surprised how hot mine got when haulin my trailer with my foot in it.

Ken are most or any built to flight standards? Are they even built to extreme or heavy-duty use? Some of these smaller companies do not have the technology or manufacturing process to build with harsh use in mind. If most are using COTS (commercial off the shelf) technology they can and will benefit from others developmental time.

I think I read that you put your pyro in the drivers side manifold, so how hot do you get? I hear that this is a better place to put it and easy to drill and tap rather than a weld in bung in your down pipe I was concerned about chips in the manifold I quess you had no problems?.

ya I put mine in the manifold right where it bends upward it was real easy to get to for drilling and tapping. Pulling the camper I've seen it hit 1200 degrees with my foot in it to pass on a hill on the highway when my cousin's Duramax was holding me back..but that was only for one or two seconds. By the way I drilled it with the truck running and trust me everything came out.

Thanks I have thought of putting it there but was not sure about drilling and tapping in cast iron, also never thought to keep it running good idea. Think I might try that tomorrow.

i wanted my '03 6.0 engine to breath and run a little freer. i put in a edge juice module and afe air filter system.
i was told not to worry about the egt if i keep it in the 50 hp mode? it will stay in the 50 hp mode just to be safe.
so far so good!! runs better and i think i picked up a couple mpg? will check it this weekend.
i really notice a difference when i accelerate to pass. i have not pulled anything as of yet. accrelation form stand still i don't know. i do not ever have reason to do this.
