I.D. My t.c.

So I have a nice leak going on here. I'm pretty sure it's a 205 but just to be sure before I get the gaskets and seals. Can anyone help?

Crawl around to the other side of the xfer case and look for a blue and silver tag. Your xfer case shift pattern looks like a NP-205.

NP-203 on the left NP-205 on the right.

It's a 205 confirmed by the three-bolt pto cover on the rear below the output shaft and the shift pattern.

The TC is very rugged, unless someone ran it dry for a while theres really no killing one. I would suspect its original. Are you going to replace the seals with the TC in or out of the truck?

Cool, now we know how to ID it from the other side of the case.

Are we reading the three bolt for the PTO is the small round idler gear cover with 3 bolts in an inverted triangle inbetween the lower aluminum cover and rear output shaft, abeam the fill plug?

I think that is what he means, but now I seem to remember that the PTO goes on the side of the xfer case?

My intention is to leave it in. It's my first time messing with one so the less damage I can do the better.

Get the seals and fix it, just hope you do not have to pull it out because it is one heavy dude.

A transmission jack is the safest way to remove it and not loose a finger tip in the process when it slips.
