Lowest I've seen it locally was $1.69 in Hermitage of all places! She's usually higher there than anywhere!

I guess it isn't. How were you involved in all that.

In the first article, the '94 Jeep that was stolen from the campground in MS was mine. We tow it behind the motorhome and we had stopped along the Natchez Trace in route to Pensacola. Went to bed at night and it was there, got up the next morning and it was gone.
3 weeks later, as we were headed back to Marianna to stay a couple of nights on the way home, I got a call. They had recovered the Jeep, arrested the couple, and I was allowed to come pick up the Jeep. All the goodies were gone(winch, jack, tools), they painted over all the decals on the outside(stars, logos, etc)and they put almost 2000 miles on her(found 230 miles from where stolen). Luckily I have full coverage, and I was able to replace everything except the tools. I'll paint it again when the weather warms up.

Wow, glad you got your ride back. From the sound of the article things could have been much worse if you had caught them in the act. There's some crazy folks out there.

Yeah, at one point when taking the report, the Sheriff's deputy said, "too bad you didn't have a gun".
I replied, "Too bad the dogs didn't wake me up".
Upon hearing the rest of the story, I was just as glad that I didn't get in a gunfight with someone who was obviously more ready to shoot than I probably would have been.
Also glad the door on the m/h was locked. My wife sorta woke up, and thought she heard someone try the door. All in all, it could have been a whole lot worse.

Funny thing, we're hoping to head out to Colorado to visit my wife's cousin on our next trip. I was looking at campgrounds/rv parks near their house. Found one fairly close and was checking the reviews. One of the reviews bitched about long term residents in the campground and suggested that, "if you've got teeth, or an RV that runs, stay away from this campground". I told her that it sounded like the perfect place to stay so as to match the 2nd trip to the first. She wasn't amused.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one wondering about that myself. Spent a while reading all of that; it was rough since there was very few pictures and lots of words....big words.

Good to hear that not only you got the Jeep back; but more importantly your both safe. There are some really strange folks wandering around un-medicated these days.

Oh, they were plenty medicated...did you not see the mug shots? Lots of evidence in the Jeep that they were making meth in addition to everything else.
According to the impound driver, the cops took 2 big tarps full of evidence out of the jeep. We filled another 55 gal. trash bag with what they left. Found some papers with maps, names and phone numbers on them. Called the cop who released the jeep to me and he said not to worry, they had all the evidence they needed.

My mother has a cousin that turns 13 years old today, even though she was born in 1954. Oldest looking teenager you've ever seen.

Let me re-phrase that, the right medication to keep them sedated. When I got my truck back in 2011, there was all kinds of crap in the bed & cab..mostly school pictures. I'm guessing someone needed to move so they just went stole a truck....my truck. Of course the flashlight cop felt he needed to dust the entire interior of my truck for prints. Good for him, sure would have been nice if he would have cleaned up his mess afterwards. One of the few things I think the Muslims have right, you steal something and are convicted of it...you loose a hand. Maybe that will make a believer out of a couple of folks.
