Question slow oil leak

I had my F250 parked for 4 days, and to my surprise when I backed up noticed a basketball size spot on the driveway. I checked it out and it was oil.

The next day I climbed under the truck and found a very slow collection of oil immediately to the rear of the oil pan. The part (not sure the name of the part) that is to the rear of the oil pan is where the oil was ever so slowly dripping to the ground.

Anyone have the same issue? I have read other posts talking about O rings and high pressure oil lines, etc. But, does anyone recognize this symption?

I will be bringing it to the dealer early next week. I'll see what they say, but wanted to know everything I could, because all they want to do is close your maintenance ticket and get you off of their lot.

Thanks,

slow oil leak

Check the top of the engine in the valley between the heads. There is a hole up there in the back that can allow oil to leak into the transmission housing and will exit about where you are referencing.

If you find oil there the likely suspects would be the upper or lower turbo pedestal o-rings (that is the part that mounts the turbo to the engine), the actuator rod for the exhaust backpressure valve (it comes out of the middle of the pedestal), or possibly one of the high pressure lines you've already researched.

If there is no oil anywhere on the top or sides of the engine you're probably looking at a bad rear main seal.
