400 update
After driving around for a few miles, I stopped for gas and noticed coolant drizzling from the radiator. Had three pinholes. Ended up replacing the radiator with an aluminum one from Summit. It is the same length and height but 1/2 inch wider. Has two 1 inch wide cores and all welded seams. It works very well, cooler than stock by a bit.
I took it to the rifle range last weekend and went the long way. I got about 12mpg over an 80 mile distance. Not bad considering I averaged 70mph and the setup of the truck. Needs a little more tuning.
Here's what I have: '80 F100 stepside 2wd, 400(1977) bored .040, .484-.510 cam, 9.5:1CR, Weiand intake, Holley 600cfm carb, roller timing chain, long tube headers, electric fuel pump, soon will have roller rockers and MSD ignition; FMX trans with large cooler; 31X10.50-15 tires; 9" limited slip-2.75 gears.
