I would like to see more opinions on this too. I saw this mod all over the internet when I was searching for extras to throw in with my recent HG job. I passed on this one though. The ford tech advised me not to do it. Looks like cheezit is a tech and agrees as well.
Most of the ones I've hear about are the guys who are running a regulated return instead of the stock setup. No experience with them but isn't the fuel system on a 6.4 similar to the 6.0?
The 6.4 has a very different system.
They use a pizo stack style injector and a high pressue fuel pump.
The 6.0 bolts have a check valve in them. Per a conversation I had with tech support they are there to reduce plusing in the system from injectors firing.
Does it work, I dont know but ive never seen one go bad and ive never seen one cause any tupe of issue.
Is short its not broken and requires no fixing.
I use 6.4 banjos. Never had an issue. They're prob $25 for both with crush washers. So cost isn't a prob. They're isn't anything wrong with using them. They've been on my truck for 720k mi.
Thanks everybody for the replies, also I'm on the fence about changing oil coolers with an average of an 8 degree split,I do want to to change tot the upgraded screen under it though.
I also run the open banjos have no issues. When the truck was BP'd had the tech install them along with blue spring. Stock engine so not running anything else. Are they worth it??, but they didn't hurt either.
