Lock cylinder
I changed the shift tube in my Excursion today. I'm trying to put the key switch back in. It will go in and rotate fairly hard. I can not get the key to release. When I hook the battery back up, everything functions as it should but it won't start, the key won't release and it still turns hard. The dash lights come on and such when the key is turned to run. I tried a different key with the same results. Everything looks good. Any ideas?

Updated info
I guess the shift lever wasn't quite in park. Now I can remove the key. It still goes a little dry but it is manageable. It still won't start. Battery connections are tight. No codes other than 2 ABS codes but that isn't anything new. Now when I remove the key, it dings at me when the drivers door is open. No other doors do this.
