I have been on a hunt for an Excursion for a long time. My goal was to find a 7.3L but they are either rust buckets or $$$. I found a rust free Excursion that spent its whole life in New Mexico and was bought by a dealership in Chicago at an auto auction. So, I purchased a 2005 Ford Excursion XLT with the V10. It's not the fancy leather, DVD, navigation version but that is ok with me. I will only be using it for snow storms, if my DD breaks down, and for hauling my drag car to the drag strip. It rolled over to 99K miles on my way home from Chicago. Runs amazing too. I will be doing a major tune-up on my next day off, weather pending of course. All fluids will be changed, spark plugs, wires, clean the MAF, new fuel filter, new air filter, and whatever else I find that needs to be replaced. I'm pretty particular with my vehicles and their upkeep. I have found a ton of information on here already, especially when I was creeping trying to find out why I was hell bent on getting an Excursion. I don't think I'm going to do any engine or exhaust modification?
Welcome! The DVD would probably of been outdated and the leather worn anyways. We ended up with leather but I actually wanted cloth because it seems to age better. We love our V10 that we picked up just a couple months or so ago.
I'm in CA now but born and raised in suburb of Chicago. My kind of town..
I'll get pics of the EX as soon as I can. The drag car, 1995 Ford Cobra Mustang 331 stroker, vortech supercharger, 100 dry shot nitrous....the list goes on. Not your stock mustang. Lol
Just a new Y pipe, but
other than that you're good Oh, and PICS!!!!!
I had to do that with my dodges too. I'll order one and have my friends shop install it. Sadly I have a single car garage and that's where the mustang sleeps. Or I would do it myself. This winter stuff had got to go.
I bought a P71 Crown Vic from Asia Motors 5 years ago. I saw that EX on ebay a few weeks ago. Nice looking unit.
I was kind of weary about the place but I had my father who's been in the auto body business for 30 years and my good friend who owns a very reputable mechanic shop come with me.They said it was good to go. So I purchased it.
