1975 highboy CC - upgrades needed!

Hello all. I'm new to the forum and am getting ready to pull the trigger on a 75 highboy crew cab. There are a few things I worry about and want to address right away...

Brakes on all 4 corners are drum brakes and I believe both front and rear are Dana 60. Is there a disc brake kit that is good and cost effecent? Can you point me in the right direction?

Seat belts are all lap belts... Is there a way I can convert to 3 point shoulder belts?

Is there anything else I should look into that is a must to upgrade?

I'm pretty handy in the garage but in no way am I a fabricator so bolt on kits work best for me.

Thanks everyone. I'm sure I will have a lot more questions to come!

Hi E55 Bulldog , I have a 1974 F250 4x4 and a 1979 f150 2wd . The 1978 seat belts looks like they would with a little drilling fit easily into the 1974 . Not sure about the rear seat belts . Maybe another set of front seat belts may work in the rear ? Sorry I can't help much , good luck !

After you the drum to disk brake conversion done or while you are doing it, you might look into adding a hydra boost set up.

Also look into getting a get a 3 point seat belt set up from a 78/79 Super Cab, the recoil spool should be floor mounted and easy to move over, same for the rear.

You will have to come up with a proper/safe way to mount the metal seat belt loop on the B and C pillars.

Other HB mod is to swap out the older style p/s set up for a newer 78/79 p/s set up.

where is the best place to source a hydro boost and brake kit?

I also read that there are issues with front brake swap, is that true for a Dana 60?

Hydroboost? Off a newer SuperDuty or a 4WD Chevy Astro....
gpt one of the later for $22. Add a couple of adapter fittings for $30 and it'll stop so hard snot will fly out yer nose.

What "issues" do you speak of?
