4x4 operation
I have a used F-350, its my first Ford truck. I bought it last year and had no problems with the 4x4. The hubs are in auto and I can switch it in and out of 4x4 from the cab. This year the first time I tried using it the hubs will not engage automatically from the control in the cab. The only way it works is for me to get out and manually lock the hubs. Suggestions on what’s wrong?

What year is the truck? This is a common problem in 99-04.

At least these trucks have an override on the hubs. Any other truck this happens to, you are SOL. So it becomes a question of tracing the problem down or just locking them in if the weather is crappy or you are going off road.
