Dave - I'm confused. The certificate label decoder does take you to a list showing what each code means. At least it does for me - although sometimes I do have to move my cursor around to get it to show the hand rather than the pointer. Is that the problem? If not, please explain again, in different words, as I'm dense.

Brandon - These pages are specific to the 1980 - 86 Ford pickups and Bronco I's. I've taken out everything I can take out for the Bronco II's, van's, little Rangers, etc. And, anything later than 1986. That was done to keep it readable. Otherwise it would have gone on page after page. So, no turbo anythings, no E assembly plants in KY as none of these trucks were built there, etc.

Gary you are part right I can ONLY get the ones on the right side to show the hand and it is only a small area with in the blue windows.

I can not get ANY of the ones on the left to show the hand. I have checked even to either side outside of the blue windows and nothing.

Guess when I checked it was just the left side windows or did not click in the right area of the right windows.

CERTIFICATION LABEL: Ok, let's try this again. I've changed where the boxes are and, having made them smaller, they seem to work.

Also, I've added the certification label only approach, which is big enough even Jim should be able to see it.

So, please tell me that it works and which you prefer.

Everything works for me. I like the top one. Since it's bigger it's easier for us aging baby boomers to see. LOL.

Thanks. But, did you miss the super-sized one at the bottom?

Next question: Can you use the VIN decoder as is? Is there a better way?

F2 should be 7.3 Turbo Diesel , but your VIN decoder doesn't support it

T 1996

E is my assembly plant. Once again no support there. However , it is Jefferson County KY

Here is a link that you might find helpful Gary:

https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Vehicl...Ford/VIN_Codes

The VIN decoder on your website didnt support any of the diesels. I dont think it had support for the 460 either.

On edit: it does support he 6.9,7.3 NA diesel and the 7.5 gasser (460)
So, if you missed that point others will. Given that, I've put a note on the VIN decoder that says "NOTE: The information below is targeted for 1980-86 Ford full-sized pickups and Broncos only. Information about other years and other vehicles has been removed to make these entries more usable.". And, I can see several places where the table says "1981/" and I've added "& on". I'll go back and change that to "1986". Hopefully that will help people understand that this is targeted for these trucks.

I like the VIN decoder the way it is but I still see vans, Rangers and Bronco II's on
the Series Codes table. Somewhere in an earlier post you mentioned you removed those. Is there gonna be some you can't remove? If you can it would make that table a little cleaner looking so to speak.
I get transmissions ok when I click on that.

Brandon - I get Transmissions when I click on that in all three decoders. What browser are you running? Have you tried another browser?

FPUM - It is, by far, easiest to remove rectangular sections of the images, and these are just pictures of tables. And many of the tables are dual column units. So, if there is "good" information beside "bad" information I have to leave the bad to retain the good. However, I may have missed some that I could take out, so if you find some I missed please let me know.

The only other option is to re-enter all of the data, and that's not something I want to tackle right now. Perhaps when I get the web site pretty well done. Or, if I find another way to do it.

But, if you have a suggestion I'm all eyes!

Engine code is a single digit. F = 1980/85 302 / Gary's VIN decoder is for 1980/86 as is this forum.

2 = 9th digit = Check Digit, FoMoCo use only.

There's always someone with a b!tch and no useful info.

My buddy, Brandon, was just trying to help me by pointing out that the VIN decoder didn't work for his truck. He thought it was useful information. As it turns out, it was useful because it pointed out that I'd not made it intuitively obvious to the casual observer that my decoder is for 80 - 86 full-sized pickups and Broncos only.

So, my bad rather than his. I'm now taking steps to correct the problem and appreciate him pointing it out.

Chrome. Whenever I click Transmissions it brings up the towing page and even has the "towing" word highlighted.
