New Question Regarding Welding
Sorry for the following, I have no idea how to upload a photo of the broken parts. If anyone wants to see them, please e-mail me at ealid(No Email Addresses In Posts!). I appreciate it.
In the picture: "A" is the piece that broke off from the metal door frame. "A" belongs in "C". "B" screws from the inside of "D" through "C" & "A." This is really easy, but the explanation might be a little confusing. It doesn't seem like this is a problem with other trucks, but it broke on mine. Any ideas?
Ok I have broken the plastic handle off, but never broke the whole assembly off. It seemed pretty strong to me, maybe the metal is faulty.
I suggest welding it as good as possible, maybe grinding the weld flat, and bolt it back on. I also think you should dill another hole through the handle bracket, and door. Put another bolt in there just to make it strong. Put paint on all the bare metal so it doesn’t rust.
I’m not sure if there is room to drill another hole in the handle bracket but look at it, there may also be no place to bolt it to the door. Place washers on the backside of the door metal, to make it stronger.
