I have a humming under the hood of my 01 powerstroke. It happens before start. I think it is coming from the area of the starter solenoid relay.
What might the humming be?
My son says there is 2 different hums from that area. 2 when switch is on and 1 after it is started. I can't hear the 2nd but my hearing isn't the best.
glow plug relay is on that side just above the valve cover,could be that,starter solenoid is on top of the starter,are there any problems or just curiosity about the noises
I have a problem now. I charged the battery and when I went to start it a puff of smoke came up from the area of the solenoid. I haven't tried anything since then. Could it be the solenoid went bad?
