F600 brake conversion

F600 brake conversion
Hi fellow FTE'ers, On my latest Ford acquisition a 1973 F600 4x4 it has HydraVac and front drum brakes.
I want to get rid of both, disk on the front keeping the FDS 75 axle and brake master cylinder to something more modern. HydraBoost with matching master cylinder??
Rear axle is a Rockwell H170 with dual cylinders.
Any suggestions?

I thought I had the solution then reread the post, Its a 4X4 Thats a major curve.
Myself I'd just stick with drums nothing wrong with those because getting into F6's
and up being 4x4's is rare enough. Two wheel drive different story, just did one.
The truck a 1949 F7. found spindles from a GMC 'disk brakes' . Reason is using the GM
complete axle is way too wide. So using the Ford axle, we bored the new spindles,
out to use the 49 F7 bushings and king pins. And we stalled a 1997 Diesel
with AOD. We used the donor GM rear axle so it has disk brakes all around
not sure if this helps but, If you are set on disk's you better have very
deep pockets, anything can be done. Also I used Ford & GM as a reference, instead of Dana Rockwell which means nothing to me just another job......................Last picture is the disk spindle installed on the original F7 axle
Don't worry the 337 low mile Flathead plus its 5sp OD is replacing my 460" 97 F350 so I don't support Exxon

On the disk conversion I was hoping someone would post use disk brake rotor and caliper from model X. Caliper bracket I would take - modify or make depending on how it would mount on a original even if 2wd.
On the master cylinder\hydraboost pirate from a GM or Ford medium duty? what years?
Nice work on your clean mill Big Job.... thanks for sharing.

1984-85 B600 buses had 4 wdb and I found one NOS caliper stand in the US a number of years ago .. most of these buses have long since been scrapped and the chance of finding one parted is zip.. I looked for several years.
The B600 rotors are easy to source.. raybestos or Chinese... for the front the Chinese have a larger bore which fits over the hub.. the raybestos dont
F550 NON ABS calipers work on the rotors and are rated at 13.5 k each.. easily within safety margin for an f600
For a master a f450 4wdb master from a 91 vintage non cruise works.. overrated even for an f600
The rear caliper stands were easy to do out of 1/2" flat plate but the front caliper stands I couldn't get happy with (and require a number of bends and ability to bolt to the axle (a lot of engineering). Many people over at Pirate do military rocs but the engineering on the front stands looks hokey.. I thought I could do better.. but couldn't get all the way there
I put my axles back together with NOS parts including drums.. which are no longer available by the way/ I sourced a locker for the front (rear was available at about 500).. one of two left in the US.. it was spendy.. (1500)
These axles became popular with the pullers and are disappearing.. there is one puller company manufacturing aluminum hubs for them.. I have a set of AVM on mine.. they cost 500
Good luck.. hope you get there
