Finally some progress and what i learned
It used to be one click of the headlight switch turned on all the lights, the next click out....only dashlights worked. What the @#*%^.
Now after cleaning up all the jumpers and wrong connections from previous owners and without the aid of a manual, one click turns on 4 park lights, the next click turns on headlights and turns off the front park lights AND now i have hi beams too. With the dash indicator.
Life is good with a simple truck !
My only concern is a bad connection somewhere in the headlight system as the pink wire from the switch to the dimmer gets warm.
I also found the one park light not grounded properly as i always had a left turn indication in the dash......it needed a better ground.
I also learned how to set up my gallery, thanks mr4spd, so have a look.
Re: dimmer switch wire - you might want to replace the dimmer switch. Ford routed all the electric for the lights thru that switch and when it goes bad it does all sorts of weird things. Fairly cheap insurance.
Next on the list is a trailer light hook up, license plate light and a 12 volt plug in under the dash.
