question
I am a new owner of a 2012 used f-150 5.0,I had a 07 f-150 5.4..07 had OD (overdrive) turn off button ,2012 has a tow haul button,,is that basically the same thing as OD switch?? Thanks for any replies...

Congrats on the new truck. The tow/haul button is different than the O/D off. It changes the programming in the transmission to hold a gear longer, changes the TC lockup strategy, and downshifts when slowing. The transmission does give the option to "lock out" gears, similar to the OD off on your 5.4. Simply press the minus (-) button on the shift stalk and you will see that gear removed from the display. You can continue down as low as you like. I haven't found a need to lock out gears with the addition of tow/haul mode, it does a really good job
