Warranty worth getting ???

Hi all,
Just got off the phone with my dealer, and he wants to know if I was interested in a $399 warranty that covers if anything is spilled in the truck (grape juice, etc.) or if bird crap lands on the truck while siting for a long period of time, and the paint gets damaged, he said this 5 year warranty will cover all the replacements (paint/interior/exterior) Should I get it done ??? Is this warranty really worth getting, and spending all the extra $$ on ?? It does cover it for 5 years . . . . . .

Scottch gard! is 5 bucks and protects againt spills and stains. But really think about this. When was the last stain you had? As a kid my moms car looked like a checker board of coke gum snott whatever. Now? nothing I see very few stained seats and I look at a lot with my dad at auctions and such.
The factory applies a staine resistant protection. Also just once a year wash your truck with DAWN dish washing liquid, this will cut all wax off, carnuba ans silicon, now that your truck is clean put on a good coat of wax. Now buy some of the spray on wax like the car wash used and srpray it on after washing. If you do this you will never have a paint problem.
P.S. Where are you I will give you some of the lot seal they want to sell. Why? UH well their times that a customer want's his paint sealed so I bought some.

Nope...........Not IMO, I made that mistake only once. Never again.

Spent a bunch of money and nothing went wrong................until it expired. Then guess who paid?

I never buy extra or extended warranties. My reasoning is that they wouldn't sell them unless they make money on them. Yes, there is a chance that you will get that money back with warranty service, but chances are that you won't.

John you are correct they make money on them! My dad sells then at his dealer ship so I am able to get them at his cost but you don't make that much.

I was like you never bought them then I bought a olds bravada, I was driving in the snow a lot for work at the time. Well 100 miles after I bought it something went wrong in the front. 2200 dollars worth of wrong! I had paid like 600 for the warrenty. Then this truck 01 crew V10. 36100 the windshield was leaking ford said no warranty 36 is 36! the dealer fix it because I made a lot of noise. Then 3 days later My window stoped rolling down. 36140 on the clock. I brought it to a place that takes the warranty I have and it cost me 0 for the fix.

I have had cars and never used the factory warranty but I figure it is worth the few extra bucks.
Just remember to fight scratch and claw for them to give you a better price.
Also look for who takes it! The one I ue the dealer will not take but they are the worst mechanics in the business around here anyway.
