2002 Clutch Control Problems
My clutch pedal stays on the floor after setting at a stop. No leakage detected. I eyeballed the slave cylinder and am wondering how it is removed???? Looks like a sealed assembly, master cyl, slave cyl, and hose. Can anyone help? The dealer wants $450.00 to do the repairs!!! My truck is a 2002 F350 PSD Supercab, Shortbed, 4X4. Thanks

2002 Clutch Control Problems
Just happen to my 2002 F350 with 23,000 miles. I looked up how to replace the master cylinder, slave cylinder and reservoir. On the slave you push in and turn ,I think it was clockwise to remove, Same for the master cylinder. The cd manual said to purge all the air out before installing the new one. All three are connected as a unit. Luckly mine was a warranty along with the towing. I could hear air bypassing at the master cylinder when pushing the pedal down.

2002 Clutch Control Problems
Just happened to me this past week. I was also lucky being under warranty. When I described the problem, the tech knew exactly what it was - sounds like a pretty common problem. The repair only took about an hour. They installed a prebled master/slave unit, Ford p/n 2C3Z-7C522-CA.
Since it appears this is a common problem, I'd at least consider pushing the dealer a bit - maybe Ford would eat part of it.

2002 Clutch Control Problems
Mine went out at about 37K. Get the whole kit, master, slave, and reservoir in a prebled unit. It is easy to install. Just hard to remove the master from the pedal if you don't have the tool to remove clips. The clip is similar to the type of fitting used on fuel lines, they go on but don't come out unless you slip something under it. Hard to explain, but you'll see. It takes about 15 minutes to reinstall everything. The slave unit is removed by pushing in and turning clockwise or counter clockwise. Once you install everything then push the clutch in, the nylon piston retainer in the slave unit will snap open. Then you're back in business. $450 is a bit steep. Parts are less than half the cost.

2002 Clutch Control Problems
I just had the same thing happen to me last week. Mine ended up being a problem in the master cylinder. Of course I didn't know that until I'd taken everything else apart. Both cylinders do come as a kit for $110.00 if you install them yourself, and those are easy to install, just a twistlock.
While I had mine apart I added more springs trying to get greater clutch pressure to hold the horsepower of my mods, and now can't get it to release far enough to get into the lower gears. Anybody have an suggestions, other than going back to stock, this stock clutch system sucks.

2002 Clutch Control Problems
GMK, I have lived in Mammoth for 30 years but don't know Chuck. Maybe reconize him if I saw him.
I went to the Ford dealer today and they said it would have cost $450 if it was out of warranty + the $300 for towing the 50 miles to the dealer. I would have done it myself if it were out of warranty.
Sounds like this not an uncommon problem. Maybe I should of got an automatic......................................... .. nahhhh love the stick.

2002 Clutch Control Problems
Well I finnally got tired of the pedal stcking to the floor so I decided to take the assembly out of the truck (The little Lady wouldn't drive so I had to spend two hours at the hair dressers). No problrms until I got to the Clucth Safty Switch, which is on the master cylinder pushrod. You have to remove it before the darn thing will go through the firewall. Once you get it out it's easy to see how it goes & comes apart....but working blind with your hand in a very unatural position is not my idea of how to spend the evenning. I finally got it all out in one piece and of course on the bench it works perfectly!!!! ( Needed about a pint of blood for my hand) Oh one more thing ... I went out and bought a 15.00 special clip release tool ...which of cource I didn't need. I also bought two extra clips (@$8.00) that the dealer told would brake unpon removal.. you guessed it with a little care no brakage!! Then I went back to the dealer to get a pre-bled assembly... no such thing! What's up with that???? I'll let everybody Know how it works out. Thanks for all the help & info.
