I just lowered my truck and had my driveshaft shortened. C5 Transmission and 9" rear end. Had about 3/4 too much taken of the shaft and now I have 1 3/4 between the trans and the yoke. The barrel of the yoke is 5" and I still have 3 1/4 going into the C5 transmission. My question is will this cause any issues? Didn't notice any vibrations on a test run.
Here's how to check your drive line movement. Most don't move more then 3/4" travel average. At the very max not over 1"
If you get some type of driveline Harmonics as it wears the tail housing bushing out it's to shout. One inch max slip yoke joint space is about perfect.

Thanks, I was trying to figure out how much of the yoke the trans needed before it would cause bushing wear. I know there is several different yoke lengths but mine is the 5" which is the longest. I will probably just run with it and if wears out the bushings it will give me an excuse to throw in an AOD.
