Project Resurrection or Die!

Swapped the transmission range sensor, no difference. Battery is fully charged and tried using the autostart... Also put tune back to stock. No dice.
Same symptoms.
I called FORD today and they want $2800 for a reman trans and $1500 to install it.
Too steep for my blood.
Nothing logically tells me why pulling the engine would make the transmission stop working. But I guess nothing on these vehicles are logical.

Ok, it's all fixed! And WOW.... It's like driving a new truck. Can't believe what I was missing before with the power steering. I always thought it was just fine before, but now I can turn the wheel from a stop using my pinky!
I drove it around the neighborhood tonight with my brother following me and everything seemed good. Shifted fine, engine has plenty of power down low... I am going to break it in for the first 500 miles and then change the oil and then I might do some WOT runs.
It's a totally different truck with the new engine headers and Mikes Tune.
The new engine has .8 miles on it!

I would recommend AC machine hands down (Birchwood). He builds sprint cars and race cars and mainly builds performance engines and he is a guru and has GREAT customer service! I would just verify how much are parts. If you bring him say a piston kit with rings etc etc he will do just the labor. He is very reasonable and his quality control is bar none. He is also a GREAT person to deal with. Great guy, easy to talk to and I wish more people in business were like him. The only downside is he can chat your ear off.
Oh, his turn around time was 3 days for machine work! Everyone else is about 3 weeks!
I used to use midtown machine before finding AC machine, he is no longer in business... His son opened his own shop up off of Dowling. All I know is Jason used to own the shop he is in now ( used to be a muffler shop). Its behind Orielly's on Dowling. Perfection Machine or something of that nature. 1625 E 64th Ave, Anchorage, AK 99507
While they do good work, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. He doesn't like talking about his work and what needs to be done etc. He's just not a people person.
I had him build me a 355 chevy lt1 about 10 years ago and I drove the crap out of that car... 7k rpm was normal for me daily and I never had one issue with it.
I wouldn't use anyone else in town. Especially not ADB.

Perhaps I missed it, but what was going on with the transmission?

OK, never mind, I found your other thread:

I must say, you do great tutorials. Anyone treading this same ground will really appreciate the time and effort you have taken to show good pictures.

At $150 a dyno run I don't know if I really want to spend that kind of cash right now.

New FORD Steering Pump.
Ok, new pump and hose installed. I added a quart of Mercon V fluid to the resevoir and put a rag underneath the pump. I plan on coming back tomorrow to see if it leaks. Due to the design its hard to torque to spec. I tried a crowfoot tool on my torque wrench, but the space is too tight.
