So my wife's expedition threw both chain tensioners. And I have scored camshafts. AND I have misfires. I never thought it would be this bad. I had a 5.4 super duty and loved it. Am I looking at an engine?

Depends if you do the work yourself or not. If you're gonna have a shop do the work, it's probably not far from buying a new engine in total cost with labor.

I'm 99.99% sure you are. These are interference engines which means the pistons hit the valves. There will be bent valves and possible damaged pistons. So between the heads, pistons, cams, and chains, it would be much cheaper to swap in a used engine.
