hey guys sold my 97 f350 4x4 reg cab xlt last year and regretted every moment of it. i just found a 97 f350 reg cab 4x4 xl, he says it has power windows? so whats the differences between the 2 trucks i know xl has rubber floors and different front bumper. but is there anything else? pics would be great. thanks in advance
I'm guessing most/all of the things that were "standard" in an XLT were options on an XL, so it could be any combination of things. Things to expect:
* No A/C
* No cruise
* Manual-only locks
* If Nemo mirrors, black back-sides instead of chrome
* Cheap vinyl bench seat
* Less fancy interior door panels (not all the little pockets)
* Steel wheels with lame wheel covers ('course, some XLTs had steel wheels too....)
* Matte finish (no chrome) grille / headlight surrounds
* Painted (not chrome) rear bumper
* MAYBE no interval wipers
I'm sure there's more; that's what comes to mind.
^^^^ Both our PSDs are XLTs. One was bought new, special ordered, by a country veterinarian who specified rubber floor instead of carpet. Any of the above could go either way between XL and XLT, that just what's generally different between them, not an absolute. Stuff to look for.
really? most of the XLT trucks i have seen were ESOF unless it was ordered as manual 4X4.
All 3 of mine have the lever. Best way imho. The only old truck I had that had esof was my 90 ranger. Worked great once I got a new shift motor on it and Manual hubs.
