Well, at least it didn't rain the first day of the year, maybe we won't have such a wet year. Currently we might as well be living in Moro Bay, I have very little dry land left and expect that to go under tomorrow. Supposed to crest mid-week, so I'm looking for 2-3 ft. under the house.
I spent Fri. putting stuff up, so glad I have the ol 83 F250 with a winch and poles on the front.
Have been at my new job for a month now, loving the work, not so much the pay that working for the state brings. Guess the difference in what I paid for private insurance and what I pay now makes up for most of it. The fact that I'm not killing myself climbing on and lifting heavy equipment parts more than makes up for it. Sure is nice to boat across the Bay and walk to the shop.
Hauled two more loads, totaling for the day at 31520#. Ended the day with a backhoe that got stuck more than "worked".
Looking from the barn to the gate.
Gate to road.
After looking at where he got stuck, he was actually off of the gravel that was there before. While getting out of each hole he made the area around it go to ****. Now if I can get a tractor or bobcat & do it myself, I will end up with a nice about as wide as I wanted driveway.
Before this adventure started, there was a chance I could make it to the barn, now, not a chance in hell.
Would you look at that...it's the 10th and I'm finally checking in. Better be-careful; someone might mistake me for a certain 7.3L mule skinner who waited until the last week of the month to check in last year. I'm sure he'll use some excuse that he'd been busy. You ever get that oil cooler fixed?
James looks like he's having too much fun.

That's what skid-steer loaders are for. Getting into all kinds of trouble...and they bounce off trees really well.
About a 78-80 crew cab truck? Don't see many of those around. I say buy it!!
1979 Wish I could buy it, dont have the extra money. Spending it on my wife's Escape & the pigs. I do have a Peterbilt the fella is interested in & he has more parts laying around to trade for.
Not sure I have ever seen a crew cab 73-79 Ford. There are a few extended cabs around here that I have tried to buy, but folks won't turn loose of.
On another note, water is finally starting to recede, at least I can step off of the stairs without getting my feet wet.
Its the third one Ive run across in the last 15 years. Other two were screwed one way or another. When I moved up here I found 6-8 super cabs laying around. Now, one & its mostly stripped.
