F100 Project
I finally registered after using this site off and on for years. I have several Fords, got an '86 Bronco, an '89 Mustang, a '13 Escape and a '13 F150. The latest addition is a '53 F100 that I am going to attempt to Rustomod, make kinda of a rusty hot rod. Lots of information on here but sorting through it all takes a lot of time. I have some idea of where I want the F100 to go and hopefully I can get there. I am getting the truck for $300 but I have to pull the original flathead V8 and transmission because the owner want them for his other cars. Drive train is either going to be a 302 HO w/carb and an AOD or 5.3 LS with a 4l60e. I want to go with the 302 but the turnkey GM engine and tranny packages are very appealing. Planning on going with a Mustang II style IFS. May keep the original Dana 44 rear end for a while if it is in decent shape. I don't do body work so my plans are to get it solid mechanically and leave the body patina. Anyway I have wanted an early F100 for a while and finally got one.
