Idaho's 2016 Annual BS thread
Alright everyone, this year i am trying out an annual bs thread. I think it may be easier to manage vs monthly threads.
I hope 2015 treated you all well. It sure had a lot of ups and downs for us, but it was a great year. our second child was born last January, and we bought a house this year. I have made huge steps in my recovery from my motorcycle accident. and i finally was able to start working again.
So here is to the new year! I am excited to see what 2016 has in store for us.

I moved to Idaho from California, Via Washington back in Jan 2015...It's the reason I have my 79 SC Moved into a townhouse with my girlfriend and her daughter, and looking to purchase a house when our lease is up this summer. My resolutions include, in no certain order: Work out more, and work on my truck to ply some skills and learn a few new ones.

I do really like the area, but the likelihood of finding a 3bed 2bath w/ 2 car garage, minimum half an acre with small shop space and RV parking will probably be out of my price range. I'm looking out toward South Boise/ Kuna area where there is still places like that to be had for what I'd like to pay. My g/f wants to keep her daughter in the Boise and/or Meridian school districts if at all possible.

I found a REALLY nice piece of off-grid property south of CDA outside St Maries with a year round creek, I think it was like 30ish acres...place has a pole barn shop, small cabin and storage containers buried in the hillside it runs on solar and propane. For 255k, it was a pretty nice place, but would need some improvements to make it livable year round. I'd do that in a heartbeat, but having a 4yo makes things a bit harder. Finding work would be a bit of a struggle too that far out...I need to win the lottery, buy a bunch of tools and equipment and just restore and modify old trucks

I have a friend in Winchester. I like the small-town setting, but convincing Susi might be difficult. Moving to a place like Winchester or Athol would be an after-retirement decision.
I'd love to have deer, elk, and turkey walking through my yard (like Micah, he sent pictures) during hunting season.
Micah, I wonder how big this "Annual" thread will become. I'm looking forward to seeing how this works out. I run a "Game" thread on a "Mustang" site I frequent. It is a "seasonal" type game, but it's conducted throughout the year, with pictures, and the size seems to be manageable.

GOOD MORNING IDAHO!!!
Craig, It was nice to meet you yesterday!
My old man has a buddy in eastern WA that has a nice 'ranch' he retired to. He has turkeys, deer, elk, bear and cougar on property. He harvested a pretty nice buck last year during deer season and had a really nice turkey for thanksgiving this year. I would LOVE to have property and be able to do as I please. My ideal house would be a 60x60' shop with a house above it Someday, someday...

I wrenched my left shoulder somehow, probably during physical therapy on Thursday. I have orthopedic appointment on the 6th, so we'll see how I am by then. I think the doc wants to start the injections on that visit. Susi returns to work that day, so she won't be able to go with me.
Let's hope 2016 brings everyone more happiness, joy, and prosperity than 2015.
