Good afternoon, everyone.
It's a wonderful day here in Nampa, ID. We're having a "heat wave" today. Temperature has gone from 2*F this morning all the way up to 13*F as of this posting.
We had four windows replaced by American Exteriors. The windows are working great. I had no idea how bad my original (4/1998) windows were leaking. Heater setting is lower than "normal" and we definitely feel a difference. I'm in my office with the curtains open. I am not wearing my usual medium-weight sweater or my insulated flannel shirt.
We can feel a temperature difference between the bedrooms and the living areas of the house. We can't wait until tax season to pay off the current windows, (future window replacement prices are locked in at the current prices, unless the costs drop), and begin Phase 2 of our window replacement project. We need to replace the three front bay windows and the sliding door.
I want to add some insulation to the house, too. I may try to do that myself, but that will depend on my back and the SSDI claim. I won't know if I can live on SSDI until I know what my monthly benefit will be and how that will affect my chances at finding a job. Too many variables to discuss or worry about for now.
I'm going to say, "Happy New Year" to everyone now. I'm not sure if I'll be online for the next few days.
