Question poly cab mounts

Hey Guys, I need another opinion, I'm doing a frame-off, & my 65 needed new cab mounts, so I bought a poly kit that covers the hole front end, cab mounts, leaf springs etc. The kit came in without the hardware for the cab mounts; the kit said to use original hardware. The original hardware is toast. Should I drop a dime and get the factory setup from one of the suppliers, or do you think I could get away with fabicating a spacer out of a piece of pipe and using some big fender washers on top & bottom of the new bushings? The factory set-up uses a bottom washer & sleeve that slides up into the top sleeve & washer, with the bolt routed thru the sleeves. Hope I didn't confuse ya'll. Does anyone know where to get the new hardware for the mounts? I think I need to clarify what I need, I need hardware fo the cab bushings, not for the actual metal cab mounts. The cab mounts are in good shape. Thanx again.............

As of about 4-5 years ago, you could buy new stuff from FORD. The original parts had been superceded, but they work the same. I would get the proper parts, since they position and secure the body to the frame.

I agree with Putt - if the body moves around on the frame you will have all sorts of nightmares with the steering binding up on you, along with other handling gremlins...

Thanx guys, I think your right on second thought. I have checked with the local ford dealer, had the part numbers for the hard ware for a 65". The parts guy said they weren't available anymore. I didn't think to ask about a newer year, will try that. Thanx again for the sanity check.

The part #'s I got were all from a '73-'79 F150 I think. I know they were all D*T* numbers anyway. Good luck!
Try to ask for help from the parts guys when they are not busy. I think they had to do some research to find it for me.lol
