Question Pillar gauges

New user here and proud owner of new 250 SD
Need some assistance making decision on the pillar gauges.
Is there a pillar pod that is made to match our interior colors
already or am I stuck with the painted version? I have seen
some of the painted type and am not enthused with the look
they do look good but was hoping there was one that matched
alittle better and had a more stock matching appearance.
Also what gauges are the closest match to the stock gauges?
I have been leaning towards the Western Diesel Gauges but wanted some opinions on it first.

Thanks, nice message board, just looking around there seems to be some informative people here.

Yes there are color matched pods out there. Go to the Parts Shop and click on guages. There are three colors there. As for guage style the range is great only restricted by the size the pod will hold, usally 2=1/16", and your pocket depth.

Pillar gauges

Hey Yoson,

Welcome to FTE!

Click on my web page below to see my A-pillar gauge pod and gauges. It is a painted A-pillar pod. Most people who see it think it is factory. You can also click a link on my page to Stan Wright's page with a detail on the installation of the pod and gauges.

If you have any questions, just ask!

Best regards,

Jeff

Thanks for the reply and info JK and Shorebird, Nice Job on the pillar job and nice truck JK. What brand paint did you use and does it scratch easy or wear off with normal cleaning fluids? I am a fanatic about keeping the interiors clean on my vehicles and don't want to have to repaint if it comes off with normal cleaning.

I have not had any problems with the paint coming off. I've had the gauge pod in the truck for about 4 months now and it looks as good as the day I put it in. My neighbor (from whom I bought the pod and gauges) painted it for me. I'll check with him to see what brand and color he used. I remember him saying that it is interior paint from the parts store; nothing special.

Hope this helps your decision.

Best regards,

Jeff
