Temperature sensor location
Recently inherited a 1986 F150 with a 302. The cooling system had not been maintained very well. The temp gauge is not working (it does not move at all). I suspect the sensor. Can anyone tell me where it is located and the best way to check whether it is the sensor or gauge.

Temperature sensor location
Top of the engine L front. It has a single R/Wh wire. Put the key in the RUN position, ground the terminal for a few seconds, and see where the needle is. If it's near H or coming down from there, it's the sender. If not, it's the gauge or the circuit between them.
