7.3 not going in reverse

I have a 1996 ford f250 7.3 5 speed manual. the other day I was under the dash when the push rod bushing broke. I replaced the bushing and it goes in reverse but when I start letting out it starts grinding and don't move. I take it out and put it in first gear and it don't grind and goes forward. what could be the problem?

Try putting it R with the truck off then start it and see what it does.

I found out the problem. I must of knocked it out of 2 wheel drive because it wasn't all the way in. I put it in and it worked fine
