Starting new project
Hello all I'm starting a new project it's a 1986 Ford F-250 reg cab 6.9 diesel c6 trans xlt 3:55 rear I would like ideas on injection pump injectors turbo I want to make a mild hot rod and dd and do y'all think I should keep the c6 or go zf5 I'm looking for fuel mileage and power

I would get my pump and injectors from R&D as well. He has a couple of well documented builds with dyno numbers as proof.
For mileage, the zf5 will be the best. If you wanted to stay with an auto you could swap in an e4od or look for and auxiliary OD for your c6. Going the auxiliary OD route will be less $ if you shop around for a used unit, but the e4od will be a more efficient setup.

I have a 1990 f-350 that has a good zf5 bad motor I was thinking of parting it out and using the trans and flywheel from the 7.3 on the subject of aux trans I have one on my dd right now I like it but it's getting close to needing a rebuild and all my injectors and pump and cam and stuff like that is going to come from r&d
