Model year? One of the flashers is for 4 way flasher, the other for turn signal. Did you match up the correct flasher unit? Sometimes 4 way uses a heavier duty flasher than the turn signal. I guess you could try swapping in the old one and see if you get back the original problem. Ive gotten brand new flashers that were bad. Often a fast flashing TS means one bulb is burned out or bad contacts in the switch itself.
I'll try doing that.
I thought this was going to be a simple task. Those modules are not easy to get in and out ! I did go to the local dealer to get the modules. I made sure the numbers matched as well.
Thanks for your reply.

Ah, this is why it is important to post the model and year. The 97 F150 has only one relay for both turn and emergency 4 way integrated into one relay. Perhaps you are replacing the trailer tow flasher relays? The regular flasher is listed as being in the Blower/Flasher relay box, and the trailer flasher relays in the power distribution relay box.
Before proceeding further check to see if you have brake lights. This would be a clue that your problem may be in the multifunction switch. Push the 4 way flasher switch up and down a couple times with the left turn signal turned on, key turned to run, and see if they start working. If they do its probably a bad multifunction switch.
Ok. I have brake lights. When I put the turn signals on, the light comes on and no flashing. I also do not have a blower for the defrost which I needed this morning.
I am now wondering if the two modules I replaced were not the problem. All I have to work on is the manual I have in the glove box which I find a tad useless. I've checked all the fuses, they look good.
Where is the blower/flasher relay located?
Thank you (I'm totally confused)
Thank you all for replying.
It turns out to be the multifunction switch. This is not something I could've done on my own. I created enough problems plugging the relays in the wrong spot! I gave it a shot though.
The place I took my truck to was absolutely great. The mechanic took the multifunction switch out of his own truck to hook me up for the day until mine was delivered later that afternoon. That kind of customer service goes a long way !!
