Thanks for the kind words guys. Your support as well as others from here has kept me on track through out this year long mess.

I'm off for the next few days, and one of my goals is to hear her sweet voice again.

I'll bet that's fun watching it come together. There's nothing like finishing a big project and standing back to see it done.

I would be interested to know how the budget soundproofing works.

Hope you keep that blue color.....looks great.

I'm interested too, because it's no where near as expensive as some of the stuff available out there. I use two rolls, it cost $60. I figure it will be a little better than just carpet with jute padding.

I got the new rear bumper loosely hung too. With aftermarket bumper brackets and aftermarket bumper it took a little tweaking to get it all together. I still haven't tightened it all up yet, so yes I know the right side is a little lower.

LOL, actually it was a picture of your truck that finally convinced my wife and I that Wimbledon White was the right colour for the Merc!

I'm confused. Where is the Mercury script on the tailgate? Didn't you find a merc tailgate.

This is the aftermarket tailgate that I bought for the truck when dad and I first restored the truck back in the 90's. I do still have the MERCURY tailgate that I picked up last year. After getting screwed around by painters for the last year, I've decided that I WILL learn to do good body work and paint! My MERCURY tailgate will be my "self-education." When it's done, I'll put it on the truck. A good friend of mine is actually setting up his garage to be able to paint, so he's going to have all the spray equipment. I'll do all the metal work and prep in my garage and take it to his garage to paint it.

2X F100. The MERCURY tailgate on that bad boy would be the
Pièce De Résistance !

Got the dash pad and instrument cluster in today. It was sure nice to see those gauges light up again!!!

I finished some more wiring today too. I got the reverse lights and Mustang gas tank wired in. Everything works like it should. AAAAAAAAAnnnnnnnd, I couldn't resist......with the instrument cluster back in and that "Engine Start" button just teasing me, I hit the button and very shortly, I was rewarded with 400+HP, 460 cubic inches hollering at me through FlowMaster mufflers!!!!! I must admit, after not hearing my truck run for over 14 months, I was a little teary eyed.

I'm not too sure about the hardware store floor covering though. The mufflers are right under the seat and after running for 5 minutes or so, I could really feel the heat coming through the floor. I'm sure it will be better with the carpet and padding, but just wanted to report back on my findings with the cheaper floor covering.

WOO-HOO! I frickin' love it. Not only did you fire up that BBC eater, but you also posted a pic of a F600 dash with an engine start button. I've been mentioning that for a long time. Waiting to see someone finally do it. I think it's Kick Azz.
Congrats on the start up. A whole BUNCH of that paint guy Ka Ka heartache just melted away I bet.

Congrats on the start up!

Bummer about the floor covering, tho.
