Bought a Power Assist fro CPP a long time ago.
Came with new tie rod.
Have decided to use a Toyota box instead
Tried to replace old tie rod with one from the Power Assist - at least 2" short.
Decided to use the tie rod ends from the assist - they are the same thread.
Didn't once consider when removing the old tie rod ends that I should take
careful measurements.
I think the old new ends are screwed in very close to the same depth as the old ends but not sure. How bad have I screwed up?
Probably not be an issue. Just adjust toe in to what ever specs are called for. Make sure the ends are far enough into the tie rod for a solid mount. Toe in is usually somewhere around 1/8" to start.
