Hey guys so y'all might remember me blowing a line about two months ago or so. It happened again.
This time though, it was the pressure that blew the line. What pressure will I be seeing on the line going from the hpop to the head?? The one I had made should have been good to 3000psi... I thought our trucks only put out around 2900-3000 wot...
Not sure about a stock pump but my terminator will regularly run 3300. It would be best to have some live data on what your trucks putting out. Also I think I would find a hose rated for at least 4k. I would rather have a little extra than always pushing the limits
I think 2800 with stock tuning. A chip can get more. A 3000psi line in my opinion is too weak. I would go with something at least 4000psi rated, if not 5000.
I'll post a picture of the blown line when I get a chance. Also, does the line have to be steel braided?? The guy at Napa said his line wouldn't be a permanent solution because it was a rubber hose.
The first replacement (blown today) was a stainless braided for 3000. The one I got today is rubber up to 6000. But the guy at Napa said this 6000rubber hose wasn't going to hold up in the heated environment of the engine bay.
When I was looking into new hoses I saw a setup a guy had using stainless and swedgelock. Looked slick and he'd had it awhile. If I blow another that's the route I'm going
Well it's looking like I'm going to have to shell out the big bucks... No hydraulic shop in town has anything steel braided rated for anything over 3k.. Since I plan on doing the t500 at some point in the future, I'm not thinking those are going to work. Oh well. I tried to go cheap and look where it got me.
If it was me I would get the ones I posted. Oh, that's right, I did get them! LOL They are bigger in diameter and hard to get on with the bends but I think worth it.
