You will want to run a wire from the starter solenoid to the coil. This will be the 'I' post, I believe. It will give you power while the starter is on. You will also want to run a wire that is hot when the key is in the run position to your coil and choke. If you still have the original wires from the Duraspark module, these can be used. I ran my own wires using 12ga. I love my HEI unit on my 460.
In my 75 I used the red wire with thin white stripe to trigger a relay to send 12v from battery to dist. I could have just ran it direct to the distributor but I felt like keeping any load strain off of old wiring and the ignition switch. Found another wire that tested as key-hot only and used it for choke. It appears to be red with yellow stripe but it is faded. All these wires were in the bundle coming through my firewall just above passenger side valve cover.
