I've read a few threads here on the subject and don't think I have an issue but wanted to throw it out there just in case.
A couple days ago while doing approx. 75 MPH on the freeway I saw the "service advancetrac" message pop up. I hit ok to clear it. The little icon on the left of the cluster came on. Stayed on for about 3 minutes then cleared up. Hasn't come on since. Fluke with the sensors or indicative of some more serious. Like most of you I prefer to avoid going to the dealer if I can.
It's usually a wheel speed sensor issue under those cases. But a bump, even a couple mild ones at that speed can cause a big speed read change.
I did actually. But I've been driving the same freeway lane, same speed, same bumps for almost 10k miles now and never happened before. It was especially windy too. I'm hoping your theory is right! Appreciate the feedback.

Thanks!
Service Advance Trac warnings indicate a fault. This system is pretty complex if you have traction control with ride stability and trailer sway control. It utilizes several modules including the ABS, PCM, Instrument Cluster, Restraints Control Module, Trailer Brake and a network. Usually a fault with the ABS is the most common cause for the system warning to come on from my limited experience with this - its not a high failure rate concern. I also recommend not jumping the gun here and continue to drive the truck to see if the fault repeats. if you are not capable of diagnosing this and defer to the dealer, please don't start "checking things" by unplugging sensors and connectors and poking around as doing so will obfuscate the diagnostic and repair process possibly causing further delay and expense to the repair.
If you are under warranty I would pop by the dealer and at least report it. Probably nothing to worry about, BUT in case later on you have an issue it would be nice to have a paper trail.
Although, I activate "Advance Trac" often and I have not seen that message... Snow covered and icy roads will do that. Going up the hills I even get a lot of activating in 4WD with the rear locked in... Stopping gives the ABS a workout at times too. For me, unless I got back to back error messages I would chalk it up to anomaly. I even had an anomaly with the hill start assist and it cleared itself.
I have a 2015 F250 with 27K miles I have had it to the dealership 3 times for "service advance track" warning light over the last three months. First time they dug into the wiring harness and tried to make sure everything was connected. Last time two weeks ago, they ran diagnostics and cleared several diagnostic warning codes. This time they ran a diagnostic check and cleared codes again. Usually occurs under normal conditions. Sometimes it clears itself, only to come back on the next time I start the truck. Any suggestions?
Clearing codes from the module is not repairing the truck. Go somewhere else. At the very least do you know what the codes were?
Here are the codes they gave me on the second trip. This time they said they did an IVD initialization and retested it and it passes. I am betting it shows up again within the week.
Mine was doing the same thing and what I found to stop it for a while is to unplug and replug the giant connector beside the top of the parking brake pedal assembly. I had the exact same issues you describe and the exact same "repair" attempts. When I unplug and replug, the symptoms go away for a few months.
EO2SeaBee...I may one day get to that, but right now since it is under warranty I want it recorded by the dealer so they can see the pattern. Last truck had an occasional, non-bothersome transmission bump I ignored during the warranty and it cost me to get it repaired later. I will keep your advice for after warranty expiration.

I agree with your thought process. I was tired of the back and forth to the dealer on it, as it was never convenient to visit. The dealer I used required appointments, so it was a pain in the butt. Having the issue recorded is good. I just got sick of dealing with it. You may suggest it to the technician though. Perhaps they can make the connection better.

For this reason alone, I make sure any issues are at least recorded.
CELs to me are like circuit breakers. If it flips once it's OK to reset it, if it flips again, there is a problem. Right now the problem is a small annoyance - but the annoyance can become a major headache later on down the road.
I understand Doug's hesitation to take it in anymore - Hopefully his issue is a loose connector that takes months in between failures.
