Here's my project truck, sitting next to my daily driver.
I've been lurking for a while now, just sitting back, getting an education, making plans. Well it has finally happened, I have my project truck. This 1972 F100 with a swapped in 460 from a 1976 F250. The plan is for a weekend hot rod, Crown Vic front suspension, explorer rear end. All made nice and low with some 20's sitting where the 15's presently take up space. I will try to keep up on this project thread because I have learned so much from you guy's and hope to keep getting good advise and maybe passing knowledge on to others.
Welcome to FTE looks like you have a great end goal for the truck. The lowered stance of these trucks just look so good when done with the right wheel and tires. Good luck and have fun along the way. We like our truck **** so post lots of pics during your build.
Welcome to the bump side keep the pictures coming with your updates. To me no pictures = never happened lol.. Looking forward to see you truck come together
64-66 T-Birds are sometimes referred to as "Flair Birds" or "Jet Birds".
61-63s are referred to as "Bullet Birds".
... and 58-60s are referred to as "Square Birds".
Agreed. The '61-'63s had great dashboards. Among the very best American dashboards, really.
I helped restore "The Thundercluck", a 65 T-Bird, and was aghast when taking the dash apart... if a part really only needed four bolts to secure it ..there were in fact eight bolts holding it secure...... simple brackets were 1/8th-inch thick whereas a properly formed piece of 16g metal would have done the job... Hence, that ***** weighed alot!!!
It was a bit disturbing working underneath it regardless if was supported with hefty jack stands.... Oy.
