I would like to introduce myself, my name is Todd I have been a chevy lover my entire life and most likely will continue to do so. I am also very fond of the Fords as well but have never had the oportunity to build one. I will soon have possession of my Grandad's one owner 70' sport custom 1/2 ton SWB. It is light blue with the 240 inline six and a three on the tree. I should pick it up in a couple of weeks. The truck starts and runs but the carb will need a rebuild, and the exaust manifold has a hole in it. Are there any rebuild instructions online for this particular carb, also where can I locate this manifold?
welcome to FTE! Sounds like a nice truck. I'm sure some of the guys here can help you with your carb rebuild. But, you may want a post in the inline 6 forum as well. I think the rebuild on the 1V carbs is straight forward. I'd just get a hold of a kit and go for it.
Acquaint yourself with the gallery and search features of FTE and you will find lots of great information on your new truck.
Welcome Todd. I agree with gtex. The carb is easy. Just get a kit from your local auto shop and follow the instructions. Post some pics when you get a chance.
Try Ebay, Type in 240 ford. There is probably a whole engine there.
I will.....I am going to go and get the carb this weekend and rebuild it so that I can drive it home with me next time I go down there. I think this truck will look sweet sitting next to my 55 chevy!I am getting really exited.
