I realize this won't be a plug and play conversion. Not concerned about wiring or gauges and know will need to make new mounting brackets and such. Gauge panel will be custom with aftermarket gauges.
Asking about basic fitment, as in how close dimensions of cab and dash are.
The cab will be completely bare, down to bare metal, so welding brackets & tabs can be done easier.
Wondering about any major dimensional differences that will need to be dealt with. Any pointers etc.
Oh and yes I did search for any info. Couldn't find anything that directly answered this inquiry. :-)
LOL if it turns out to be a not very feasible thing to do and abandon it won't cost me anything, pulling a 75' F150 dash out for free.
With the dash sitting there and an empty shell cab, will check out the feasibility of it. If it turns out to be a nightmare job to do then oh well.
I'll post pics of the dash and cab for others future reference anyway.
That sounds like it may be doable then. Since the 74' is deep can put some sheet metal to close up between dash & curve of 94' windshield. Planning on making a metal dash cover anyway. Hopefully get the 75' dasg pulled some time nxt wk.
Thanks, that's a help and encouraging.
Don't see why you can't make anything fit with a welder and a grinder.
This. As long as it physically fits in place then you can do ANYTHING as far as brackets and whatever else you need with a welder, grinder, and cutoff wheel.
Wiring is easy. They are just wires and an OBS truck does not have a complicated electrical system. If he is using aftermarket gauges than there is almost NO electrical work needed to adapt the dash. Just lighting and heat/ac controls if he is even using them. Radio and other basic stuff like wipers and lights.
Are you keeping the EFI engine? If so then it will need a speed input which on this vintage truck runs through the PSOM(speedo cluster) so that will have to be retained.

No, building a carb engine for it, using a pre EFI head also.

It may need a PSOM to function correctly, but that doesn't mean he has to look at it. Stuff it in a box on the firewall, and you're good to go.
