Has any of you made 51-56 parking lights

Hi guys I missed out on buying my parking lights at Carlisle or Hersey this year. So i am trying to find some when my wife says " What, you cant make them , You are making everything else on the truck. " That sounded like a challenge to me. So since i need 2 sets for 51 / 52 and 2 sets for 54, I thought its just a painted box so why not. I'm just wondering has anyone here made them before.

For me they are too cheap to buy to warrant that much expenditure of my own time to make. That said, on my current 56 project I am using a 53 grille and the parking lights from the 56 won't work nor will the 53 lights line up. I am fabricating my own but I am using "other than sheetmetal" techniques.

Since every pair i see have rust issues i was thinking stainless would hold up and look nice. I also thought that im replacing the light and lens anyway to make it a turn signal buying 4 sets to throw half it away didnt make sense either.

I agree new ones are available cheap. That said I just cleaned mine up and put in new dual filament sockets for a few bucks. New lenses and trim is also available cheap but I kept my originals.

I'm a DIY guy but these are way too cheap and difficult to fab.

I'm serious. I like to see owner fabbed parts. I have WAY more time than money so I also fix or build things that are easier to just buy.
