Broke shock brackets
Under just bought 2003 F-350 Dually 4x4 and noticed 1 broken bracket on axle and the other is bent really bad. They are welded on.
Anything special about welding on the axle?
Is there any bolt on brackets?

The lower shock mounts on the sterling 10.5 rear axle (on the srw super duties) are bolt on. The axle tubes on the dually axle may be larger in diameter.
Welding on the axle tubes is not a big deal but you may light of the gear oil laying on the inside of the tube. If you pull the rear diff cover, drain the diff o, pull the axle shafts and blow the excess oil out of the axle tubes it will help prevent the risk of a fire. And with the axles out you have access to put out the fire if it lights off some residual oil.
