Can anyone explain why my P350 has a 130" wheelbase when the 1948-1956 ford parts catalog says all the "J" P350 are either 104" or 122" I am having a hard time trying to figure out exactly what I have here and also has anyone hunted down a supplier for the curved glass pieces for one of these
Perhaps it was a special order and was built on the P500 130" wheelbase chassis with 350 running gear? Delivery vans were available in several configurations. Some had a Ford body, or a partial Ford body/cowl, or just a plain chassis where the body manufacturers would build their own body complete. That appears to be what yours is, so it won't have any Ford supplied body parts, including the glass. You'll need to track down body maker info to find replacement glass. Or have it custom made($). What year is it? What does the VIN say?
You've defeated my references too. The 130" wheelbase would be right for a later P-500, but you have the lighter duty single style wheels and hubs of a P-350. Either 104" or 122" per the books. Stu
Are there any body tags on it? It appears to be a Grumman Olson. They should have a tag on it somewhere, and sometimes the body builder tags have the chassis vin stamped on them. You might check with these guys; Grumman | Skunk River Restorations
It looks like they did a nice job restoring one,
ok so the brake parts should be from the p350 is what you're figuring?
In the picture it's pretty clear you have shallow dished single style wheels. Probably 17", my guess, which creates for you its own set of challenges. If I'm correct they are 17", not 16", they are two piece called Firestone RH-5°. Known today as "widow makers". Next question, what is the bolt pattern? Six on 7.25", or 8 on 6.5"? Stu
