....there were even (factory) tachs mounted on the hood to lessen taking your eyes off the road.
--I'd be afraid someone would steel or vandalize a tach mounted on the hood but, here they are shown on a '70 Boss 302 Mustang and a '69 428 Cobra Jet Mustang.
Hood mounted gauges (Ford/Pontiac) were susceptible to condensation and fogging up. The solution is to install a warm air intake and then a vacuum hose to circulate the air in the housing.
Like that one you did Mike, was it easy to see? Currently have mine on the column, identical to one Gembone has but hate looking through steering wheel......I have mounted to pillar in past but haven't looked at doing that with the Bump.
I got it mounted on in the same spot as Gembone. I haven't mounted it yet since I took it apart and paint/clean it all up. I am definatly going to paint the clamp like Gembone did before I mount it now.. Great thinking manzz and for the idea

What number is the bulb in the tach? I need to pick up a blue led to match my other gauges.
Here is what I got. Fits the tach and the gauge cluster. They come in a assortment of colors and they have a lifetime guarantee for replacement as long as you own the truck if you register them. They are a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Directions for that is on the back of the package
