What kind of temps are you trying to start in? Try plugging in the block heater and if you still have starting problems then it's not related to the GP system.
You can actually test the GP resistance from the connectors on the GPCM. Do you have a wiring diagram?

I plugged in all last winter and slow starts.
Replaced injector orings, UVCH, and glowplugs (GPs about $8/ea)
Also hutch mod and lines.
I run synthetic T6 in this cold.
Down to 6F this week, my start time went up about 1/4 sec, but still under "2 Mississippi"
